My Review

I love this book! I'll admit I'm not one to ever pick up a book that I think is going to be motivational. But I chose this one for a reason. Three years ago my husband and I went on a life change (uh..yeah, so we thought) and began eating healthier foods and getting regular, daily intense exercise. He lost 70 lbs!! I lost 25 lbs.!! We each met our goal and were so excited. We actually kept the weight off for a year. Then began the slide...not pretty. In the last 2 yrs I have regained all 25 lbs, and he has regained 30lbs. We have said for months that we need to go back to healthier foods and exercise. UGH! Then I saw this book up for review and it was like an epiphany :) Ok, maybe not an epiphany.

But it was time for some...

For me, this book is it! As I read along I kept saying “YES!” Now, a lot of the principles she talks about I already know, but sometimes you just need some Mojo and Chantel is motivating.

Stressing Faith, Food, & Fitness reaffirms what I have long believed about weight loss. You can't do it without Christ. Daily take up your cross and follow Him! I know it's not the same thing, but the principle applies. It IS one day at a time.

FOOD

If you are constantly checking the scale, charts, and personal eating journals, the whole process can get very discouraging. Especially if you only lose a ½ pound on a given day. She encourages you to take a look at what really is going on in your life and make a conscious choice, EVERY DAY, to focus on TODAY and what you can do to achieve your goal on this One-Day Way.

Practical eating and exercise is discussed and examples given. She talks about how we need to stop freaking out over what happened yesterday and focus on changing TODAY!

I am SO ready!

Come along with me on this journey of getting fit ~ body, mind & spirit!
